Province of Manitoba, Manitoba Hydro Sign Electric Vehicle MOU with Nissan

Manitoba’s Minister of Innovation, Energy and Mines, Dave Chomiak, announced that the Province of Manitoba and Manitoba Hydro are entering into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nissan Canada Inc., the Canadian sales, marketing and distribution subsidiary of Japan-based Nissan Motor Limited and Nissan North America Inc., to help advance the use of plug-in electric vehicles (EV) in the province. According to the agreement, the partners will work together to develop the potential from the existing battery charging network within the province, and discuss possible incentives for EV infrastructure providers and EV users. Nissan has formed partnerships with 95 governments, cities and other organizations to support the deployment of electric vehicles worldwide.
